Lisa Dietrich
Lisa Dietrich is back with her first new single since the release of her critically acclaimed remake of Natalie Cole’s “La Costa”!
“Noted for her clever lyrics and staggering vocal arrangements, veteran songwriter Lisa Dietrich prioritizes quality - influenced by a vast array of classic Pop, Soul and Jazz. Lisa has collaborated with legendary musicians like Verdine White (Earth, Wind and Fire), Paul Jackson Jr. (Michael Jackson), Wayne Linsey (Whitney Houston) and Stanley Randolph (Stevie Wonder) to create a sound that harkens to the brightest segments of yesteryear.” -MIQ MAGAZINE
"Set It Off Tonight" was inspired by a trip to New York City a few years ago one evening at my friend D. Prosper's iconic Friday night spot, “Soul in the Horn”- where the DJs’ music focus includes a fabulous array of Classic Soul Funk and Disco.

The vibe in the club was euphoric! The stellar arrangements, level of musicianship, and overall production of the songs from this era that I grew up with..phenomenal! That night I decided I needed to capture something like this for my project. ‘Set It Off Tonight’ is an uplifting song I feel is so needed in these crazy times! A song to get you going, on the dance floor or lacing up your skates to take it to the streets!”
Lisa Dietrich co-wrote “Set it Off Tonight with Wayne Linsey:“I woke up one morning and the lyrics and melody came to me all at once, including the signature horn part in the hook! I knew I needed ‘Quincy Jones - level production.’ Soon after that, I met up with music mastermind Wayne Linsey at his studio and I explained my vision. I wanted all live instrumentation including a live string section. I started singing what I had written a cappella, and right away he got on his keyboard and we were on our way! Between the two of us, we brought in the perfect mix of “A list” musician magic!"
